In order to explore the economical and reasonable process of extracting vanadium from vanadium-bearing hot metal, sodium vanadium was used as the flux to pretreat the vanadium-bearing hot metal. The effects of silicon content, basicity of slag, sodium carbonate addition , Treatment temperature and slag plus ferric oxide and other factors were studied. The results show that sodium carbonate can effectively remove the vanadium, silicon, phosphorus and sulfur in the molten iron, while the amount of coke does not change much. In order to effectively carry out the vanadium extraction process, the amount of silicon in the molten iron should be less than 0.3% or the basicity of the slag (Na 2 O / SiO 2) should be greater than 4.0. Sodium carbonate is added in an amount of not less than 30 g / kg of hot metal, and the lower the treatment temperature, the better, generally at 1300 to 1350C. If you add iron oxide in the flux, will promote the oxidation of vanadium. It is expected that the amount of vanadium in the molten iron can be reduced to 0.03% when the amount of sodium carbonate added is 35 g / kg · hot metal and 1300 ° C, the content of vanadium pentoxide in the slag can reach 13.5% and the oxidation rate of vanadium is about 90% .
