水厂路小学坐落在汉水之滨,现有教学班26个,在籍学生1236人。学校有着“干部成长的沃土”“教研员的摇篮”“名师培养基地”等美誉,拥有一支师德高尚、知识广博、精于教书、勤于育人的教师队伍和一支开拓进取、廉政求实的领导班子,并以其高效率的管理、高水平的教学质量赢得了家长、社会、教育界同仁的一致赞誉。 科学的教育理念——学校确立了“实施‘五基教育’,强化夯实基础,为学生终生发展奠基”的办学理念。2005年1月我校作为硚口区小学的代表在全区首届校长论坛上就学校办学理念作了主题发言。 优异的教育质量——我校已建校60年,是硚口区两届名校,历任领导一直把质量强校作为办学宗旨之一。学校在市区的各种调考中,成绩一直名列前茅,在今年的“楚才杯”作文竞赛中有14名学生获奖。 优秀的教师队伍——从水小先后走出了10名市、区教研员,这在全市都是罕见的。目前我校有48名教师在国家、省、市、区优质课比赛中获奖,有区模范班主任1人,省、市、区学科带头人和优秀青年教师及骨干教师共32人。2005年5月,我校青年教师唐婷、蔡维分别作为矫口区全体语数教师的唯一代表参加了市教育局、教科院举行的“首届新课程语数优质课比赛”,均获一等奖。今年韩花老师在荆州举行的湖北省新课程语文优质课竞赛中荣获一等奖,姚琪老师在湖北省首届科研课题成果推荐会上执教英语示范课获得圆满成功,黄原、欧阳秀丽老师参加市优质课竞赛双双荣获一等奖,在今年举行的“区优质课比赛”中,我校4名参赛教师全部荣获一等奖,在全区名列第一,形成了一支团结创新、爱岗敬业、师德高尚、教艺精湛的教师队伍。 学校以建一流的队伍,创一流的工作,办一流的学校为办学目标。领导班子以务实、进取的精神,围绕办学目标,在办学条件比较艰苦的情况下,注意向内使劲,以抓教师队伍的整体综合素质为基础,以提高课堂教学整体质量为重点,以《水厂路小学跨世纪师训工作五年规划》为载体,以扎实有效的“三大工程”(塑造名师工程、科研育人工程、继续教育工程)和“六个三,过五关”为内容,取得了可喜的成绩。
