百花园中两朵新开的鲜花从第一次文代会到现在已经十一年了,在第一次文代会前后还曾有人怀疑从解放区农村来的歌剧能否在城市中存在下去?还担心过歌剧能否为社会主义服务?(用他们的话说是歌剧能否唱出社会主义来?)假若说他们的这些怀疑在当时就是不合事实的过分的忧虑的话,十一年之后的今天,就更加证明了他们的怀疑是没有任何根据的。我们的歌剧已经稳固地存在,健康地成长,响亮地歌唱了社会主义革命和社会主义建设,它空前地发展了,繁荣了!在乡村,在城市,在工厂,在部队,我们的歌剧都受到人民群众的热烈欢迎!
