1992年9月14日高等学校专业外语教学指导委员会英语组在首届全体会议期间举行了三次小组讨论会。参加讨论会的有英语组23名委员(3名委员因故缺席)。第二届高等学校外语专业教材编审委员会主任、现指导委员会顾问王佐良教授、第二届高等学校外语专业教材编审委员会英语组组长、现指导委员会主任胡文仲教授、国家教委社科司王茂根司长、外语处张序义处长等经常到会听取委员们的发言,指导工作。整个讨论在紧张、热烈、团结的气氛中进行。
On September 14, 1992, the English group of the Steering Committee of Professional Foreign Language Teaching in Colleges and Universities held three panel discussions during the first plenary session. Twenty-three members of the English-speaking group attended the seminar (three members were absent for some reason). The second session of the College of foreign language teaching materials review committee director, now the steering committee consultant Professor Wang Zuoliang, the second session of the college English teaching materials compilation and examination committee English group leader, now the steering committee director Professor Hu Wenzhong, the State Education Commission social science division director Wang Maogen Director of Foreign Languages Department Zhang Xuanyi often attended the meeting to listen to the members’ speeches and guide their work. The entire discussion was conducted in an atmosphere of tension, warmth and unity.
