图书广告是传递图书出版发行信息,加速图书商品流通的一种媒介,它可以通过各种媒体(报刊、书目、广播、电视)把出版发行部门与读者联系起来,其根本作用在于激起读者购买兴趣,促进图书商品的流通。馆藏目录主要是起揭示馆藏、识别和检索文献的作用,通过实践,笔者发现它也具有传播新书信息的广告特征。无论是哪种形式的馆藏目录,均已间接地成为出版发行部门宣传报导和推荐新书的工具。
Book advertisement is a kind of medium which can transmit the information of book publication and distribution and speed up the circulation of book commodities.
