自从十七世纪黑死病流行,凡是到意大利两个港口的船只在海外滞留40天,确认未感染此病方准靠岸登陆,以后其他国家沿海口岸城市亦采用抑留40天的办法为历史上防止可怕的黑死病的传播起了显著的功效,意大利语 Quaranta 即40天之意,以后产生了检疫这个词,并促进人们将这种措施应用于防止植物危险病虫的传播,进而产生了植物检疫“plant Quar-antine”。仓储害虫是和人类生活品密切相关,它们是生活在仓储环境条件下的特殊种类,一般能随寄主物品,包装材料,运输工具,人为的传播,因此,在检疫上有相当重要的位置。兹就其检疫及检疫处理问题略作阐述。
