1雨果(1802-1885)出生于法国东部的一个军官家庭。母亲喜欢阅读,常常带着雨果去图书馆。很快,雨果也被书中的故事迷住了,经常趴在书堆里,一读就是几个小时,不管读不读得懂,都看得津津有味。2中学毕业后,雨果听从父亲安排,学习法律。可是雨果对法律一点也不感兴趣。开明的母亲从不强迫雨果去上学。相反,她知道雨果喜欢看书,就把各式各样的书借回家中。母亲对雨果说:“爱看就多看吧,能看多少就看多少。有一天,你会成为大作家的。”
