今年是新世纪的第一年,也是实施第十个五年计划的第一年。对于新一年的工作,大政方针和目标任务已经明确,总的要求是,以发展为主题,以结构调整为主线,以改革开放和科技进步为动力,把提高人民生活为根本出发点,全面推进经济发展和社会进步。扎扎实实地做好社会保障工作,不仅是一项重要的经济工作,而且也是一项严肃的政治任务。各级、各有关部门务必统一思想,提高认识,既要充分看到取得的成绩,面临的有利因素,更要认识到工作中的薄弱环节和存在的问题,不断增强责任感和紧迫感。
This year is the first year of the new century and the first year of implementing the Tenth Five-Year Plan. As for the work for the new year, the major policies, objectives and tasks have been formulated clearly. The general requirement is that we should take development as the theme, structural adjustment as the main line, reform and opening up and science and technology as the driving force, and improve people’s livelihood as the fundamental starting point and push forward all-round Economic development and social progress. To do a solid job of social security work is not only an important economic task, but also a serious political task. At all levels and all relevant departments, we must unify our thinking and raise our awareness so that we must fully understand the achievements we have made and the favorable factors we face. We must also recognize the weaknesses and existing problems in our work and continuously increase our sense of responsibility and urgency.
