In some sedimentary sulphide deposits, such as copper-bearing shales, the metal enrichment has stratiform zonality of the Cu-Pb-Zn sequence (Weepohl) and some local mineralization zoning, as described by Rentzsch, Cut through the rock oxide formation layer. In either case, the mineralization zoning order is equivalent to changing from more oxidized to more reductive conditions. According to Rentzsch (1974), the minerals are: (1) Hematite (2) Chalcocite (3) Bornite - Chalcopyrite (4) Bornite (5) Brite - Chalcopyrite 6) Chalcopyrite - pyrite (7) Galena - sphalerite - chalcopyrite (8) Galena - sphalerite (9) Pyrite.
