The goal of an economic system with socialism with Chinese characteristics is to establish a socialist market economic system. Deng Xiaoping’s new thinking on planning and markets is the core of establishing this system. Therefore, a systematic grasp of Deng Xiaoping’s viewpoints on planning and market becomes the theoretical pivot of our construction of a socialist market economic system.
