海派黄杨木雕是上海地区具有代表性的工艺美术种类,在20世纪六七十年代辉煌一时,涌现出一批优秀的木雕人才。林翊作为海派黄杨木雕创始人徐宝庆的入室弟子,是唯一一位执教过的三届海派黄杨木雕班的专业老师,对海派黄杨木雕的发展有着承上启下的作用。无论是其高超的木雕技艺,还是其对于海派黄杨木雕教育的突出贡献,都是继徐宝庆之后海派黄杨木雕发展的关键人物。
