(三)碳化物覆渗处理在钢铁表面通过扩散覆渗形成碳化物层的化学热处理方法称作碳化物覆渗处理。由于碳化物渗层的优异耐磨性,抗粘着性和抗蚀性,近年来这种工艺受到普遍重视,积极试验研究并在模具、刀具和机械零件上广泛采用,获得良好效果。碳化物覆渗处理工艺按照渗剂的物态有下述三种方法。(1)气相法气相法碳化物覆渗处理是将工件放置在扩散元素的卤化物、氢和碳氢化合物的混合气流中,加热到800~1200℃,使被还原的元素和气流中的碳发生反应生成碳化物而沉积在钢铁表面上,或者使被还原的元素和钢材中的碳相结合在表面上形成碳化物层。
