泡桐,我省乡土优良树种。材质轻韧,纹理通顺,不弯曲,不翘裂,不变形,有耐腐、防潮、隔音、绝缘等特殊性能,是制造模型、家具及房屋建筑的优质用材,且为重要的出口物资。桐树生长迅速,十年左右即可成材。农村有“喂母猪、栽桐树、十年变成富裕户”的谚语。一般多在平原、四旁栽植,至于高山能否造林,缺乏经验。为此,我们于1973年—1975年春,在洪河上游的高山地带,作了泡桐造林实验,收到成效。之后,于1975年冬—1979年春,逐步向
