Anfu County has a glorious revolutionary history. It is part of the revolutionary base of Jinggangshan, an important part of the Hunan-Jiangxi-Soviet Area and the main activity area for the three-year guerrilla war. The proletarian revolutionaries of the older generation, such as Mao Zedong, Zhu De and Peng Dehuai, have left the footprints of fighting here.
