突发事件,是指突然发生、造成或者可能造成严重社会危害,需要采取应急处置措施予以应对的自然灾害、事故灾难、公共卫生事件和社会安全事件。突发事件由于强烈的“突发性”、“破坏性”和“灾难性”等特点,往往会在极短的时间内造成较大的社会影响,成为社会舆论的焦点和热点,极具新闻价值,受到媒体的重视和关注。电视作为主流媒体为顺应时代发展要求,对突发事件报道的重视程度明显提高,如何做好突发事件的新闻处理,抢占舆论制高点,对于新闻媒体,是一个亟需重视的课题。
