As the British government strongly endorses the strengthening of market competition mechanisms and the privatization of health services, it supports managed care, and the US-style employer-provided health insurance practices have grown substantially, with the exception of national health services. Number of hospitals, the number of hospitals contracted through competitive bidding, and the number of doctors engaged in private practice have increased significantly. Policy analysts and politicians in the United Kingdom are concerned that such a public-private model that follows the United States poses a risk to health care and construction in the United Kingdom and points out that two lessons should be drawn from the privatization of health care in the United States. First: Weakened doctors’ autonomy and clinical freedom. Due to the market-oriented policy of the Reagan administration, doctors have become the most troubled by litigation and letter documents.
