国内报刊对当代美国文学作品的介绍,有些译名是值得商榷的。例如,《读书》1979年第6期将约塞夫·海勒的小说《Good As Gold》译成《纯真如金》。又如约翰·厄普代克的《Rabbit, Run!》,《文艺报》1979年第4期译成《兔子,跑吧!》,《读书》1979年第3期译成《兔子回家》。这样译法似乎欠妥。虽然,Gold和Rabbit在英语中分别有“金子”和“兔子”的意思,但是在以上这两部作品里面,它们又分别是书中主人公的
Domestic newspapers and magazines on the introduction of contemporary American literature, some of the translation is questionable. For example, Reading 6, 1979, translated Joseph Lovell’s novel Good As Gold as Pure. Another example is John Updike’s “Rabbit, Run!”, “Literary newspaper” 1979 the fourth period translated into “rabbit, run!”, “Reading” 1979 the third period translated into “rabbit home.” This translation seems to be defective. Although Gold and Rabbit have the meaning of “gold” and “rabbit” in English respectively, in both of these works, they are the protagonists of the book
