每当人们走过北京人民大会堂,部会被耸立在会堂门前气势宏伟的一列石柱所吸引。那些装饰着东北红、艾叶青大理石的廊柱,显得流光溢彩、富丽堂皇。 大理石作为装饰材料,花色多,纹理美,容易琢磨,表面平滑光洁,许多古代、现代建筑杰作都少不了用它来装饰。从希腊雅典的巴特农神庙到法国巴黎的凯旋门,从法国的凡尔赛宫到中国的故宫,多少著名的建筑由于大理石的装饰而四壁生辉。
