文蛤被誉为“天下第一鲜”,是经济价值较高的贝类,不仅肉味鲜嫩,而且富含多种营养。据测定,文蛤鲜肉含蛋白质10%以上、脂肪1.2%、碳水化合物2.5%,还含有钙、磷、铁、维生素等。不但是我国城乡市场的畅销活鲜,而且远销日本及欧洲各国,是颇受欢迎的出口水产品之一。文蛤广泛分布于我国辽宁、山东、江苏、浙江、福建、广西等沿海,在辽宁营口、山东莱州湾及苏北、广西沿海形成最优势种群,蕴藏量大。在台湾省不仅有丰富的自然资源,而且是渔民从事海涂养殖的主要贝类品种。文蛤是优良的增养殖品种,发展文蛤养殖是一项经济效益较高的农(副)、渔业生产。目前在我国南北方沿海适宜海区,应充分利用广阔的海涂滩地,积极发展文蛤的增养殖。
