建设三峡工程是中华民族的百年梦想。从1919年孙中山先生提出修建三峡大坝的设想到1992年七届全国人大五次会议审议通过《关于兴建长江三峡工程的决议》,经历了73年漫长曲折的抉择过程。目前,三峡工程已基本建成,成为当今世界最大的水利枢纽工程,并作为治理和开发长江的关键性骨干工程,开始发挥防洪、发电、航运等巨大的综合效益。根据国务院领导批示,国务院三峡办委托中国工程院启动了“三峡工程论证及可行性研究结论的阶段性评
The Three Gorges Project is a century-old dream of the Chinese nation. From 1919 Sun Yat-sen proposed the idea of building the Three Gorges Dam. In 1992, the Fifth Session of the Seventh National People’s Congress examined and adopted the Resolution on Building the Three Gorges Project of the Yangtze River and experienced a long and tortuous process of choice for 73 years. At present, the Three Gorges Project has basically been completed and becomes the largest water control project in the world. As a key backbone project for harnessing and developing the Yangtze River, the Three Gorges Project has begun to exert tremendous comprehensive benefits such as flood control, power generation and shipping. According to the instructions of the State Council, the Three Gorges Office of the State Council commissioned the Chinese Academy of Engineering to start the ”Stage Three Assessment of the Three Gorges Project Demonstration and Feasibility Study Conclusion
