Russian scientists studied the body of 1,500 retired elderly people aged 64-95. They found that older people who were sitting more than 10 hours a day and exercising less than 40 minutes a day developed faster senescence. Scientists fixed the accelerometer on the thigh of the study participants and used it to measure participants’ activity. They compare the experimental data concluded that the sedentary lifestyle will increase the body’s average aging rate of 8 years.
