The working wavelength of the laser interrogator of the US Army single IFF system sub-system is 1.54μm and the wavelength is relatively narrow. Four laser detectors and four planar array antennas are tightly fitted to the standard helmet of the ground force manned equipment system . Each antenna covers an azimuth of 90 °, and the 4 antennas cover 360 ° in all directions. The interrogation and response periods are within 1 second and the recognition distance is more than 2.4 km.
