DuPont decided to adjust the investment plan in India again. His Gummipoodi plant for the joint production of nylon 6/6 fiber and tire cords with India’s Thapar Group is in the initial stages of construction. However, because the Thapar Group wants to withdraw from this project, the scale of the factory under construction will be reduced to 1/4 of the original scale. The project’s production capacity is 13,000 t/a, and it is expected to be completed in November 1997 and products will be available in November 1998. Among the original three shareholders of the plant, Mitsui Petrochemicals, another partner of Japan, accounted for 5% of the shares.
