中国科学院从建院开始,就把为国家解决经济建设和国防建设中的重大科技问题作为自己的任务,把促进我国传统工业的进步和新兴技术的发展作为自己的职责。1950年6月,政务院规定中国科学院的任务是“培养健全的科技人才和国家建设人力,力求学术研究和实际需要的密切结合,使科学真正服务于国家的工业、农业、国防、保健和人民文化生活。”40多年来,我们参与了两弹一星的重大科技攻关任务,为我国计算机、电子技术、自动化技术。半导体技术的创立和发展做出了重要贡献,为军工材料、装备的研制建立了诸多业绩。我们在气象卫星、合成孔径雷达、激光技术及其应用、光电子器件、磁性材料、高性能合金材料、工业自动化系统、工程塑料、精细化工以及生物技术等方面,也做出了突出成绩。
