不知不觉,城市扩张业已成为中国时下一种常态,新一轮城市扩张的热潮举国蔓延。许多城市部面临着城市老化的问题,老城区拥挤不堪,交通堵塞,城市形象得不到根本的提升,城市规模也越来越不能适应经济的发展。随着城市经济的高速发展和城市建设的逐步完善,城市原有的核心发展区域已经不能满足城市进一步发展的需要,于是,越来越多的城市开始规划建立新的城市发展区以适应城市的高速发展,南昌亦然。一个城市成长的轨迹,也是城市扩张的脚步,犹如自然界的生长,无法阻挡。南昌选择昌北作为域市重点发展的新区,规划将昌北红谷滩中心区建设成为南昌的中央商务区,意在以昌北新城引擎南昌崛起。昔日的荒凉滩涂,未来的城市新核,昌北之于南昌的意义正如浦东之于上海,朝阳之于北京,天河之于广州,福田之于深圳。我们提出孵化昌北的概念,正基于此。一座城市的发展,有其内在的必然性与外在的偶然性。城市的崛起之路,付出最大、受惠最多的皆是市民,从某种意义上讲,市民的状态决定城市的状态,市民兴则城市旺,市民倦则城市颓。如今的昌北遭遇种种困惑,商业不旺,人气凋零,期望中的CBD尚在远方,这也是许多城市发展中所经历的阵痛。我们冀望,城市经营者们能像母鸡孵蛋一般细心地呵护着这方土地的嬗变,梳理清它的脉络,规划好它的轨迹,让昌北如新的生命一般破壳而出。自破千年老身,以新少年的姿态崛起的昌北无疑将引领着整个城市的步伐。

The old desolate tidal flats, the future new city nucleus, and the significance of Changbei to Nanchang are just like Pudong in Shanghai, Chaoyang in Beijing, Tianhe in Guangzhou and Futian in Shenzhen.
