How far is this road from the gigantic deep Gansu Dongxiang to the glorious temple of international Arabic calligraphy? The answer for the Muslim calligrapher Chen Kun is “Regardless of the storm, always relentless ”. Early years of hardships, over and over again practicing in their belly writing dreams can go far. When young, both parents passed away, Chen Kun followed his uncle’s life. Sheep, mowing, arable land. The chance of accidentally touching the Arabic Qur’an in a poor life ignited the seeds of the dream in the heart of Chen Kun. He was deeply attracted by the Arabic alphabet. Chen Kun was 13 years old that year.
