对素描的广泛理解以及对素描在其他领域中的广泛运用,在今天已被越来越多的艺术家和设计家所重视。素描在视觉艺术中,在对其他科学领域所起的作用上,有其独特的地位。素描提出了许多概念,而这些概念不仅对艺术,而且对工业设计和工艺美术如装潢、服装设计、室内设计、日用品造型等,作出了很大贡献,并产生出杰出的作品。素描不需要依赖其本身的特点在自己的领域中求得生存,它没有局限性,它在视觉艺术的各个领域里随心所欲地进行渗透和活动,素描不仅为艺术家们提供了一个艺术驰骋的天地,而且也被当今众多的实用艺术家们自觉或不自觉地加以利用和表现。
