学校教育在素质教育的实施中起主导作用,而学科教育则是学校教育的主要形式。学校教育中的素质教育主要是通过学科教学来完成的。在生物学教育中落实素质教育的总目标,在传授生物学基础知识、基本技能的同时,充分利用生物学知识的文化价值和教育价值,积极探讨生物学知识与素质教育的最佳结合点,以促进学生素质的全面提高和智慧潜能的充分开发。如何适应新时代的要求,抓好生物学素质教育,提高学生的生物学素质,是新世纪的召唤,也是摆在中学生物教育工作者面前的一项重大课题。
