五月,是一年一度的“安全月”。自1980年以来,在全国范围内开展这项运动,已经是第四次了。实践证明,“安全月”活动的开展,对于促进安全生产起了积极作用。全国安全事故已经连续四年下降。但是,必须看到,安全情况不好,仍然是当前工业生产和交通运输工作中的一个十分突出的问题。今年第一季度,工业交通系统发生的特别重大事故,比去年同期上升62%。贵州省水城矿务局木冲沟煤矿瓦斯尘爆炸、广东省红星312客轮翻沉和内蒙古自治区海勃湾站列车放飏等三起事故,给人民生命财产造成的损失是触目惊心的。

Practice has proved that the launch of the “safety month” has played a positive role in promoting safe production. National security accidents have declined for four consecutive years. However, it must be observed that the security situation is not good, and it is still a very prominent issue in the current industrial production and transportation work. In the first quarter of this year, particularly serious accidents in the industrial transport system increased by 62% over the same period of last year. The three accidents of gas dust explosion in the Muchuigou coal mine in Guizhou Province, the Hongxing 312 passenger ship in Guangdong Province, and the trains in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region at the Haibo Bay Station were all shocking to people’s lives and property.
