挂钟馗像在陕西南部与四川交界的一些地方,端午节这天,流传挂钟馗像的习俗。挂蒜头、石榴花端午期间,挂菖薄艾蒿,这已是南北城乡的习俗,可在江西、安徽相邻的部分地方,端午这天,家家门前悬挂蒜头,有的挂石榴花以期“赶鬼除菌”。蒜的气味辛烈;石榴花五月盛开,是“天中的五端”之一。迎鬼船江西南边的部分地方,流传迎鬼船的习俗。因为这一带水浅,不能进行龙舟赛,故在五月初五这天,用纸扎成旱船,带着登高、游街,谓之“迎鬼船”。
