20年前,随着全党工作重点转移到以经济建设为中心上来,国务院作出了改革中等教育结构、发展职业技术教育的决定。20年来,经过全省上下的共同努力,我省职业教育事业取得了可喜的成就。全省现有中等职业学校847所,建成省级以上重点职业学校和职教中心等骨干学校近300所,中等职业学校招生数、在校生数已分别从1978年的2.7万人、4.6万人上升到1998年的29.4万人和82.3万人。20年中,我省职业教育为全省培养了200多万技术、管理人才和较高素质的劳动者,开展了数百万人次的短期实用技术培训,全省初、中、高技术等级工比例由“七五”期末的70:27:3提高到现在的40:53:7。职业教育的恢复与发展,改变了中等教育结构单一的局面,提高了劳动者素质,为经济发展和社会进步作出了积极的贡献。
