革胡子鲶鱼属热带鱼类,适温范围在15～35℃之间,原产于埃及尼罗河,1981年引入我国。 养革胡子鲶鱼有很多优点。1.生长快,养殖周期短。据实验,在同等条件下革胡子鲶的生长速度是本地胡子鲶(鲶鱼)生长速度的5～6倍。在5月上旬投入的鱼苗,到9月下旬就可生长至400～1000g,成为商品鱼上市。2.该鱼食性杂,饲料易得。人工饲养食小杂鱼、动物屠宰场下脚料、死鱼、烂虾、蚯蚓、鱼粉等动物性饲料,以及豆饼、棉籽饼、花生饼、玉米面、麦麸、细糠、酒糟、豆腐渣等植物
