2002年12月,《国际汉语教育》杂志的前身——《国外汉语教学动态》正式创刊。刊物隶属于北京外国语大学国际汉语教学信息中心,是该中心的实质性工作成果。刊物的宗旨在于全面调查海外汉语教学的历史和现状,系统介绍国外汉语教学的经验,及时报告国外汉语教学的新动向、新问题,推动国内学界与国外学界的交流与互动。在创刊号上发来贺词的有:时任国家图书馆馆长的任继愈先生、时任教育部副部长的章新胜先生、时任汉办主任的严美华女士、北外校长陈乃芳教授以及北京大学林涛教授。各位学者寄予期望,给予鼓励。主编为张西平
In December 2002, the predecessor of “International Chinese Education” magazine - “Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language” officially started. The publication belongs to the International Chinese Teaching Information Center of Beijing Foreign Studies University and is the fruit of its substantive work. The purpose of the publication is to comprehensively investigate the history and current status of overseas Chinese teaching, systematically introduce the experience of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, timely report new trends and problems in teaching Chinese as a foreign language, and promote the exchange and interaction between domestic and overseas scholars. In his first issue of congratulatory messages, Mr. Ren Jiyu, then the head of the National Library of China, Mr. Zhang Xinsheng, then Vice Minister of Education, Ms. Yan Meihua, then Director of the Hanban Office, Professor Chen Naifang, President of the North University and Professor Lin Tao of Peking University.
