广告是长沙《大公报》的重要组成部分,常年占据着该报近半的版面。在功用方面,它不仅可以传递信息、表情达意、推进产品的销售,而且也能反映出消费者心理、折射日常生活、体现社会的发展。精彩纷呈的广告如同万花筒,真实地记录着近代长沙的社会生活、经济结构和价值观念广泛而又深刻的变化。这正如著名报学家戈公振先生所说的“广告为商业发展之史乘,亦即文化进步之记录”一样,载满着时代印记,折射出社会变迁。
Advertising is an important part of Changsha’s Ta Kung Pao, which occupies nearly half of the newspaper page. In terms of function, it can not only convey information, expressiveness, promote product sales, but also reflect the consumer psychology, refraction of daily life, reflecting the social development. Colorful advertisements are like kaleidoscope, which truly records the social life in modern Changsha and the extensive and profound changes in economic structure and values. Just as the well-known newspaper researcher Ge Gongzhen said, “Advertising is a historical record of business development, that is, a record of cultural progress.” It is filled with time stamps and reflects social changes.
