据景宁一中给本部来信中说:“由于张老师在生物课教改、创建生物馆中成绩显著,故1984年劳获“省为人师表优秀教师”、1986年获“浙江省劳动模范”、1988年获“省实验室先进个人”,同时受国家邀请为“全国优秀教师夏令营”营员,1991年为“畲乡建设十大标兵”之一,1993年被评为“全国保护野生动物先进个人”等光荣称号,他撰写的论文、乡土教材多次荣获国家、省、地一、二、三等奖。
