On December 26, 2006, the National Conference of Directors of Civil Affairs and the Commendation Ceremony of the Advanced Worker for the National Committee for Discipline Inspection were held in Beijing. At the meeting, 45 ethnic workers from all over the country were honored by the Ministry of Personnel and the State Ethnic Affairs Commission. This is the first time since the founding of New China in 57 years and has also been listed in the annals of history as the top ten news stories for the Chinese ethnic minorities in 2006. These comrades from the system of people’s committees at all levels throughout the country shoulder the sacred duties entrusted by the party and the masses in their respective posts and work in silence for the sake of reunification of the country, national unity and social stability. Today, when our shots are aimed at them, one of the most touching stories hidden behind them slowly emerges and becomes clear as our words record them. Please pay attention to this issue from the beginning of the current interview with the advanced workers of the State Ethnic Affairs Commission system.
