孙以强,美籍华裔钢琴家、作曲家,自幼表现出杰出的音乐才华,19岁进入上海音乐学院钢琴系,师从李翠贞教授,1966年毕业;1980年去美国密苏里州圣路易斯市的华盛顿大学音乐系攻读硕士学位,5年后取得硕士文凭,并读完了为取得博士学位所必修的科目。其创作的音乐作品大多篇幅不长,但音乐构思巧妙新颖、音乐形象生动贴切,具有鲜明的中国民族风格,深受众多音乐爱好者的喜爱,如小提琴协奏曲《送红榜》《唱支山歌给党听》,钢琴曲《谷粒飞舞》和《春舞》等等。
