刘永济《南史提钩》中涉及到避帝王名讳的字主要是玄字和弘字,玄避讳的不是唐代玄宗的庙号玄,而是避讳清代康熙的名玄烨。弘避讳的也是清代乾隆的名弘历。把《南史提钩》中避帝王名讳的字弄清楚后,有助于正确理解文本的内容。同时,以便进一步了解到清代避帝王名讳的现象是其封建专制文化的反应,这种反应也对处于清末民初的刘永济产生了深远的影响。
