丫鬟是封建社会的产物,她们出身卑微,前途暗淡。元人王实甫所作杂剧《西厢记》中的红娘虽然作为封建社会下的一个小丫鬟,拥有极重的戏份,但是我们如果能够结合时代以及跳出剧情的局限,用“以人为本”的眼光和历史的思维去衡量这一角色,红娘恐怕还是难逃丫鬟的宿命。她是否也可以拥有自己的爱情?为何称奴婢都拥有“无性别化”人格?丫鬟的理想未来出路有哪些?这些都是值得思考的问题。
