According to iSuppli’s latest forecast: the end of two years of decline and downturn in 2003 the world’s semiconductor, electronic equipment and components market will return to a rapid growth stage. The company predicts that the world’s semiconductor sales in 2003 will rise to 171.6 billion U.S. dollars, up 11.8% from 153.5 billion U.S. dollars in 2002. This strong growth rate stands in stark contrast to a 31.9% drop in 2000 and a slight increase of 1.5% in 2002. The company estimates semiconductor revenue for the first quarter of 2002 and 2003.
