Critical discourse analysis focuses on how power is exercised in language use. Critical discourse analysis started in the 1970s. In this language trend, the social linguist Fairclough mainly created a critical discourse analysis system. This system connects language and society closely. This article will focus on Fairclough’s theory of critical discourse analysis and his three analytical framework.
