民间美术是一种源于生活的艺术形式,表达了人民群众的心理、愿望、信仰和道德观念的世代流传与发展。主要由广大普通劳动群众创造,经过历史的传承和不断发展起来的美术形式。它包括民间绘画、民间建筑、民间雕塑、民间工艺美术,具有着相当广泛的应用艺术范畴。被誉为“东方之冠”的上海世博会中国馆,富含中国传统建筑文化意蕴和美学品格,传承并应用传统建筑元素及其元素文化,民间美术元素体现的淋漓精致。
