丁光生教授1921年7月生于北京。父亲丁绪贤是我国现代化学奠基人之一,母亲陈淑是我国妇女教育的开拓者。丁光生自幼受家庭熏陶,立志“科学救国”。1937年抗日战争爆发后,他在内地过着清贫的学生生活。于1944年毕业于中央大学医学院,1945年考取该院生化研究生,在郑集教授和王应睐教授指导下完成了醣类对维生素B_1代谢影响的研究,成为我国自己培养的第一批硕士之一。
Professor Ding Guangsheng was born in Beijing in July 1921. His father, Ding Xuxian, is one of the founders of modern chemistry in China. His mother, Chen Shu, is a pioneer of women’s education in our country. Ding Guangsheng was influenced by his family since his childhood and determined to save the country scientifically. After the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War in 1937, he lived a poor student life in the Mainland. He graduated from the Central University School of Medicine in 1944 and obtained the biochemical graduate student in 1945. Under the guidance of Professor Zheng Ji and Professor Wang Yinglai, the research on the effects of carbohydrates on the metabolism of vitamin B 1 has become one of the first batch of master’s programs cultivated in China .
