The application of IPA in China is becoming more and more widespread. The construction of China’s audio language database has been carried out all over the country. All of these urgently need to establish the norms and standards for IPA. To this end, “Voice recording and IPA Symposium ” was held in Shanghai Normal University on September 4-5, 2010, and the convenor of the conference was chief researcher of E-Research Institute of Comparative Linguistics in Shanghai University, Shanghai Normal University Professor Pan Wuyun, director of University Language Institute.
