元杂剧剧本中的“虚下”提示可以根据剧情的不同需要,表示不同的意义,节约表演时间,并且与观众形成交流。这一提示在元刊本中就已出现,但在明代各版本中其使用情境更为丰富。臧懋循的《元曲选》因为对元杂剧文本多有改动而遭到批评,但其对“虚下”提示的使用却自有其特点。
Yuan drama scripts in the “virtual under” tips can be based on different needs of the story, that different meanings, save the show time, and the formation of exchanges with the audience. This prompt appeared in the meta-edition, but its use cases were richer in all versions of the Ming Dynasty. Zang Mao-xun’s “Yuan Qu Xuan” was criticized because there were many changes to the texts of Yuan Zaju, but his use of “humble” promises has its own characteristics.
