在纪念抗日常德会战70周年之际,我们怀着崇敬的心情,深切缅怀血战日寇、壮烈殉国的孙明瑾将军。1943年11月19日,日军攻至常德城外围,与常德守军展开激战。常德危在旦夕,第九战区长官部急令第十军火速驰援常德。11月19日,预十师师长孙明瑾率领八千官兵,随第十军一起,从驻地衡山出发,昼夜兼程,每日强行军百余华里,向常德方向疾进。预十师最先到达位置后,第九战区长官部直接命令孙明瑾不待主力到达,立即向常德东南面兴隆
