阐述了“节水农业文献数据库”的“直接统计功能”，即主题、分类、著者、年代、文献出处等六项统计功能；分析了该检索系统的“潜在统计功能”、“多项组配检索功能”及其作用。可为信息工作者进行信息况研提供现代化统计手段，也为广大用户了解节水农业领域的研究热点、空白，进行课题立项，确定科研方向提供参考。
