玉桥中学是通州区教委直属的一所普通初级中学,位于京杭大运河起点通州镇东南侧的城乡结合部,于1994年4月25日批准建校,1994年8月建成并投入使用,占地面积17734平方米。建校之初只有南楼、北楼、办公楼3栋,随着办学规模不断扩大,后经过1999年、2009年两次改建、扩建,现在拥有3栋教学楼、1栋办公楼、1栋综合实验楼,总建筑面积达11583平方米。学校现有36个教学班,26间理化生、劳技、地理、计算机等专用教室,1374名学生,是通州区最大的初中校。学校现有在职教职工148人,其中市级骨干教师1人、区级骨干7人、区级青年骨干3人,具有副高级职称
Yuqiao Middle School is an ordinary junior high school directly subordinated to the Tongzhou District Education Committee. It is located at the junction of the urban and rural areas on the southeast side of Tongzhou Town, the starting point of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. It was approved for establishment on April 25, 1994 and completed and put into use in August 1994. The area of 17734 square meters. At the beginning of the school building, there were only three buildings, namely, the South Building, the North Building, and the office building. With the continuous expansion of the school scale, it was rebuilt and expanded in 1999 and 2009. Now it has three teaching buildings, an office building, and a building. Comprehensive laboratory building, a total construction area of 11,583 square meters. The school currently has 36 classes, 26 specialised classrooms for physics, chemistry, geography, and computers, and 1,374 students. It is the largest junior high school in Tongzhou District. There are 148 faculty and staff members in the school, including 1 municipal backbone teacher, 7 district-level backbones, and 3 district-level young backbones. They have associate senior professional titles.
