As a great realistic writer in 19th century Great Britain, Dickens’ creation of his literary works was deeply influenced by his childhood experience and his life trajectory. As a moderate humanitarian writer, Dickens’s work contains a wealth of emotions and legal conflicts. In his literary works, Dickens strongly advocates the concept of “doing good and using love”, and holds that in the contest of human nature, the good general will overcome the ugly, the good will always defeat the evil and put the power of “love” far behind Above the law. Although Dickens thinks that love can feel more about people’s emotions, he is sober and wise. Through Dickens’ literary works, we can not only feel the author’s dissatisfaction and criticism of the capitalist legal system, but also negate the contempt and wanton trampling of the law by evil. In Dickens’ work, we can clearly feel the complicated disputes between sin and punishment, love and law in the conflict between good and evil.
