现场总线技术在80年代中期开始在汽车行业应用,经过十几年的发展,其技术的先进性得到了广泛的证明:其分布式的结构满足了汽车生产线的控制要求;其网络化的结构适合于现场设备与更高控制管理层通讯的要求;设备的智能化满足了汽车生产中高自动化程度的要求。因此,现场总线技术已经应用于世界上许多汽车厂。最近几年新安装的汽车生产线以及新改造的生产线都采用了现场总线技术。近几年无论是国内设计,还是国外设计的生产线,几乎都采用了现场总线技术。
